so basically they need a well defined 'stop'. this term's used in dogs to explain where the top of the muzzle meets the skull. it would seem to apply to birds too, where the top edge of the beak/nares/skull meet, should not be a straight line.

Welcome to the Zoo!  2 Morgans, 2 Minis, 1 Standard Poodle, 3 cats, 3 pet birds and the chickens.

Dorkings and bantam Cochins mostly, with a few others here and there.

And of course, my wonderful Hubby, who puts up with me and keeps me in check when I start to get crazy.

That sounds like a correct definition to me.  Thanx!

Here's a picture of my 4-month-old bantam cockerel. His comb is not very pretty although it seems to have the correct number of points and I think he has a crow head. He came from a variety pack of bantam cochin eggs and is staying as a pet :)

And here is a 4-month-old bantam pullet. Her head seems to have a little better shape but I don't see a well-defined "stop" or "forehead." I don't know what to say about her neck except it looks fine to me hu.gif I'd love some input.

Sorry if this was already posted, I didn't actually read through all 46 pages to find out, but what are the main colors not recognized that people seem to be working on developing I'm new to Cochin and may be ignorant. If that list is huge forgive me, but please humor me and list the top project colors if possible. I have most of the common colors (I think) and I'd like to know what other colors are out there so I can keep an eye out for them when I want to add to my flock. Thanks.

I think Self Blue (Lavender) and Lemon Blue, and Mille Fleur are probably the most popular project colors?

+ Splash, but it's hard to think of Splash as a "project" color.

Haha thanks guys I love her too. She came out of eggs from Lucky Pickens. Nancy, we'll have to do an egg exchange this fall! (Seriously, you/anyone else interested?). If anyone has any constructive criticism on the heads and necks of the SL cockerel or the calico pullet I'd love to hear it--anything I didn't mention that you notice?
