Lemon Cuckoo Orpingtons

Do any Lemons have that"basketball "look?

Hi. Did you get an answer to this question? I think I have the same question. I call it tweed like an old suit. Mine have it on the tips of wings and some have more. I don't think that should be there. I bought the eggs on EBay. The parents were beautiful in the pictures. Never saw this on my other lemon babies. Thanks.

I have a cuckoo question, but about lavender cuckoo, if breeding a double barred lavender rooster to black hens will all offspring be single barred black and show the barring? Or are they solid black (I assume barred as the gene would cause white feathers?). I will be working with buff and lavender cuckoo and am unsure on this point but want to introduce black for better type on my lavs.

The outcome would result in 95 to 100 percent chance of getting barred females and 100% barred males (some of which will be double factor). There is a small chance that some females will be black and of those black females 50% will be split to cuckoo. Remember females can only carry one barring factor and males can carry two.
