Male or Female bird, where are you located (State and county is good enough)? What type of show? County fair or APA / ABA sanctioned show?

Bantam: Blue Wheaten OE, Brassy Back OE, Birchen OE, Brown Red OE, Opal OE, Porcelian OE, Columbian OE  NPIP# 3-125

The county fair will publish a premium book. That's the list of classes, conditions, entry fees, prize money, terms to show.  Like my fair requires that birds be treated for lice one week before the show and they are inspected before they enter the poultry building.

I don't show chickens, but I'm pretty sure they get washed and their feet and legs cleaned before a show.

Your bird will show better if it is accustomed to being in a cage.

You'll have to have food and water cups. Those aren't provided.  My fair provides the bedding, but you go by and make sure it is clean.

Enter the bird, go and have a good time.  You'll get to talk to other people who show their birds.  A fair is a good place to start and if you enjoy it, you can look into showing at APA sanctioned shows.

There is an Exhibition Poultry (net address) that is a free magazine and they list upcoming approved shows.  That's the best place I've found to learn where the shows are, short of buying a subscription to The Poultry Press.  Exhibition Poultry is a download, but I've been reading it and never had any problems with viruses or anything icky (I don't normally download anything).

Just a hint: fair food is really expensive, so take a snack and some drinks from home.  You'll have to be there every day to care for your bird.
