Here's another photo of the same trellis a few weeks ago before it filled in. You can also see the Garden which shares a fence with the Chicken Run, there is a door I open to the Garden in the Fall when I'm done with it and the chickens glean/clean and till the garden all fall and winter so it's ready to plant in the spring with minimal effort.

P.S. The website link under my Avatar is my facebook, there are more pictures of my Garden and Chicken$hit there if you're interested.

The chickens do enjoy squash (sometimes) and tomatoes (all the time).

Have you ever tried Gourds? Chickens love Gourds better than any garden vegetable I have discovered to date.

We planted Bushel Basket and Zucca Gourds mainly because they grow to huge sizes and they are the best of chicken feed. You just cut them when they are full size but still immature. A Bushel Basket Gourd that weighes 35 lbs. will be gone by morning.

They also have the fastest growing vines of any garden veggie. The only thing I know that grows faster is Kudzu. lol

By the way, you have a beautiful garden.

If you'd like some Gourd seed; pm me with your address and I'll send you some for next year. All I ask is that you mail me back the cost of the postage to send them.

This is a really neat idea! You have a beautiful garden, too. Do your chickens eat the squash and tomatoes or do they grow too tall for them to reach? It's a great way to get double use out of some garden plants!
