They're separate from the others, they're a whole different Oriental Gamefowl, the same as Asil are different than Shamos. smile They're far more rare, and usually can be recognized by a very pronounced tail and longer legs but a shorter neck as well as a good variety of fascinating colors.

Can I show them? They are really turning out to be very good looking... but not apa approved? If I entered as shamo?? would I get dq?

It wouldn't get a DQ unless it has some faulty (for a Shamo) features like a tail above horizontal level, wrong eye color, body weight too far off, etc. Thais are not APA recognized, and most Thais (but not all) come in color varieties that would only allow you to show them as "All other Varieties" even if you did show them as a Shamo.

The best thing to do with Thais is preserve the breed wink They're pretty rare, purebreds especially. I do think there are special shows out there for Gamefowl though in which he may be entered, but, I've NO experience to be sure. I've never shown my Shamos because they're almost never in top condition. (broken feathers are common)

Thai are not rare, nor are they Shamo.  If you have decent Thai, they will not pass as Shamo to any judge worth their salt.  Quality Thai on the other hand are not easy to find, but are also not show fowl either. ;)  There are typically two kinds of Thai out there, ones raised for the soup pot, and ones raised as gamefowl.
