My cuties are 2 years old and the male has just developed his ring. They are real gorgeous. Was wondering what age span they might have.

Looks like 15-20 years with proper care.

I love mine. Olivia is almost 10 years old and just raised another pair of gorgeous sweet babies. smile

Enjoy yours, I think they're sweet.

Thanks Borderkelpie,

Mine aren't doves, they are a type of parrakeet.  Nice links.

Anyone?

Oops, I just saw the ringneck part.

Ok, how about 25-30 years, then. lol

Hi countrygirl1,
Do Asian ring-necked parrakeets make good pets ???

Are they too nervous / flighty ???

Did your ring-necked parrakeet bites your fingers or hand when you held the parrakeet upside down, bare-handed ???

Do Asian ring-necked parrakeets have intelligence ???

Clinton.

Hi Clinton,
Indian ringnecks make excellent pets. We hand raised ours from 18 day old chicks . That seems to be the best way to ensure that they will be tame with you and not nervous. i find your next question somewhat unusual! I have never held them upside down!! They  are extremely intelligent birds and learn very quickly. Our male is a great talker and he has picked up my laugh.

I am finding the indian ringneck forum very informative and there is some excellent info on there. Have a browse on there. There are loads of pics too.

Good luck
