Derperella, the (weird) Faverolles, & Friends - Page 120

in post 1095  Nambroth shows us some of the artwork she will be exhibiiting.  It hasn't been 8 mos. between  postings of Derp and friends, it may just seem like it.  I don't believe Nambroth expected such an overwhelming response.  She has work  apart from chickens and everything else -  she can't just sit there and crank out Derp  stories everyday - people have to have their priorities and  making a living is more important.

While I am looking forward to the next Derpy installment too, I am also enjoying all of the banter, pictures and stories in the meantime!

In the interest of sharing cuteness, here is a photo of Ninja Chicken earlier today, looking fluffy, cute and not that ninja-like...

I love her, Ninja Chicken is posing like Derp and has the same expression.  I think she is beautiful.

I've been trying to talk my chicken friend into getting some salmon faveroles because of their gentle personality. She has had some nasties in the past.. The fact that males and females are distinctly  different in coloration, my friend wouldn't keep getting stuck with cockerals instead of pullets.

Thank you!  She is a sweetie, and has no idea that she's a chicken.  She's quite clever, and doesn't understand why we keep trying to get her to hang out with those loud feathery things outside roll.png

Found this Derpy post today and read the entire 120 pages. My mouth is sore from smiling!

Dear Fud Lady, thank you sharing Derperella's story and brightening my day! It is a rare gift to be able to see the unique wonder in an individual that many would dismiss as "defective," and it is obvious from the enthusiastic responses that your gift is appreciated by so many of Derp's fans. I think most of us feel that we are imperfect in some way, and to see imperfections celebrated in such a humorous and loving way is very comforting and inspiring.

I am touched by Derperella's good-natured acceptance of her own abilities and her obvious enjoyment of life. Who else would have a grill as a best friend (when you'd think it would be a chicken's worst nightmare)? And with buddies like Coho, Chickadee, and the Fud People, being top of the pecking order seems quite pointless. We could all benefit from roosting on our favorite chair and staring a bit more; the chicken version of "stop and smell the roses."

If you ever do write a book, I think its lessons would be extremely validating for children with Aspergers and Autism. They too follow a different path through life, and Derperella, with her crooked head and quirky behaviors (like her first egg!!  tongue2.gif), would be the perfect positive role model.

Thank you for illuminating such an endearing character! "I am here nao, Fud Lady!" and "Goin' round the Rooster" are in my head forever! You have another fan.

Best wishes to you and yours!  frow.gif

Yes, there is no one like our Fud Lady.  She can really turn a phrase.  The  Derp episodes come to mind at the oddest times - usually when I need a good laugh. Right now I am laughing at Derp grass-hoppering over another chicken. The other walked off and Derp was  grasshoppering over nothing.

Whew! Just read the whole thread!  This is one of the greatest chicken stories ever! I love Derp :)  Your artwork is beautiful as well, Nambroth.  Definitely subscribing.

AH MAN! And here all this time, I thought she was just building up the suspense! I guess its an even better thing that we Hi-jack the thread while we wait for new Derpy adventures!  Oh course, Now I am stuck in the "Long Live The King- the neverending story continues" also. Hey, can't sit around waiting for Derpiness all day. Gotta get some medieval chicken action too!

At the very least, wipe the poop off your feet before getting in the car.

Well, I finally did my picture of Derp. Just so you all know, I have not drawn or sketched anything in years! SO, excuse the amateurish rendition.
