Well that is great news that she is making some progress. I know it's a slow thing. That's funny Derp preening the roosters tail. I would love to see some pics but I know your busy but whenever you get a chance. How many chickens do you have now?
Thanks for the update and give Derp a big hug from me.
I do sincerely think Derperella is improving, it's just very slow! Wry neck problems can be quite slow to heal, no matter what the cause.
Here is a photo of Derp in her most "upright" pose, which she could not do a month ago. She can only hold this pose for a few seconds before her neck and head fall back down and to the side, but it is an improvement. She does this when I talk to her and she wants to look at me! How sweet she is.
Here's here halfway upright pose. She can hold this one perhaps 20 seconds at the most before dropping back to her upside down posture.
Her relaxed posture is still head down and turned back, down at crop level, like in the photos I posted a few weeks ago.
She has gotten very good and finding her way around (mostly by walking backward, because that's the direction her face is pointed when she is relaxed!), and eats and drinks totally on her own. She likes to stay on "her towels" area of the floor, unless she is feeling lonely, and she will wander over to us.
