what is this on my game-cam? - Page 63

Not so many on here are actually saying there are no panters/cougars/mountain lions in the area, alot of us are just saying that the picture isn't of a cougar.

The size is just too small to be a cougar.

I know your in Georgia, but in Texas we have jaguarundi which if your cam was in my back yard I would say that is what you have there.  I know jaguarundi are in North Florida as a friend has actually had a family that she has observed for a few years in Madison.  This may be a possibility.  My grandfather used to call them little lions smile

After looking at the cam thread and this one, I really want a cam.  We have cougar, panther, jaguarundi, ring tail cat (not a coon!), coons, opossum, skunks, coyotes (had a big one in the front yard this evening hmm), but of all the nocturnal predators we have.... wild hogs is what I fear the most.   I haven't seen a coop on this site yet that would keep a wild hog out, of course I haven't seen them all wink.  Even my plans won't keep out a determined hog, just gotta hope I can make it more of a pain than my chickens will be worth.

Out of curiosity I wiki'd the jaguarundi and there are reports from Alabama, so you may very well have a fairly rare kitty on your cam smile
