I love old pictures! It makes me feel so young, being in color pictures. hide.gif

It's the shape that makes the breed, and the color that makes the variety.

Long weekend. I'll have to catch up later.

Oh and spent the night riding around in a limo. Amazing how exhausting that is these days. Got back to my daughter's house and fell asleep sitting up. If I had known I was going to do that I would have had a drink while I was cruisin Modesto. LOL

I have several OE and EE chicks if anyone is interested. There may be some of the lav layers  in there since I forgot to band them th.gif I just need to make room for others that are hatching and almost due.

BTW.....My Silver Phoenix is a horrible mother. Killed the first 3 chicks, so I snatched up the other 10 eggs and rushed them into the incubator. So disappointed, since my hatches have been low and I hadn't gotten one to hatch, so let her do it.

It's Prom Day at my daughter's so getting ready to run out of here. Bill and I always did all the prom and formals pics for the grandkids. I miss his help, but I've done ok with keeping up. Also gives me a chance at using my daughter and SIL's camera. I love that thing. OK one more thing before I run off.

Your Hubby too?!!  Oh my gosh you guys have really been through it haven't you?!!  I hope he has as good an outcome as you have had.  Pam I just want to say how much all your support has meant to me these past few months!!!  You are an amazing person to have been through the pain you have and still be so quick to be helpful and sympathetic when we all need it most!!!!!  Huge hugs to you!!!

Speaking of folks being supportive... Kim I also am not sure if I told you how much you helped me deal with my Mom's death 3 months ago.  Today is her birthday so I thought I would post a pic of her to celebrate.  I loved it when you posted pics of your parents to honor them.  Very cool.  So I figured I would keep the tradition going...   smile.png

Happy Birthday Mom!  (she's the one in the middle)

Yes I love the old antique photos the best!  I love photos in general but the old ones are especially precious since we have so few of them.  I've managed to beg copies here and there from different family members so now I have quite a few.  There are not well organized though so I still need to do that.  BTW Kim your text to me on my Mom's birthday meant a lot to me!!!  Thanks for the warm regards and the constant support!!!     hugs.gif

Oh no, and you had such high hopes for her!  From what I'm told there are quite a few breeds that are like that.  I have to thin my flock too.  I got too carried away this whole season and now I am out of room!!!     th.gif

Yeah I'm really disappointed in the hen. I candled and I only see one that still may hatch. Then again I noticed the other eggs added the other day and a couple look like they are developing, so that's good. I just haven't had great hatched lately and I have had DIS chicks from these 2. They don't lay consistance I guess until one goes broody. LOL

I have peeping chicks in my kitchen. I played musical chicks today, but I was supposed to be working on a growout pen and kept getting sidetracked. Hopefully I can get to it tomorrow and get my babies out of the big dog crate in the morning.

I set 19 Silkied Ameraucana eggs. I'm using an LG and I think I'll do ok. At least I hope so. That LG hatched a lot of chicks while Bill was alive and he had just bought it for me when we moved here, so it was busy. I've mostly used it as a hatcher, I put a never therm/hydro in it and it read 111 degrees! Geez! The humidity was 16% so I filled a chanel and when I checked again it was 68, so I dried it as well as I could. Still reading 44-48%, but I think that will drop by morning. I'm trying to stay right around 30%.

Wow is it really almost 3am?  Guess I better try to get some sleep.
