DT,

To the best of my knowledge and research, Ganoi do not and should not carry the naked neck gene. The difference is Ganoi are born with feathers folicles but some strains tend to loss them as they mature.

Just dont want folks to get confused.

MY BREEDS:

KO SHAMO, O-SHAMO, LOATIAN THAI, GA NOI DON, SOUTH AMERICAN REZA, SIYAH RAMPUR ASIL, MAHARAJAH ASIL, NORTH INDIAN ASIL, PAKISTANI ASIL

FRENCH MARANS (Blue & Black Copper), AMERACAUNAS (Lavenders, Blue/Wheatens), ANDALUSIONS(BLUE/SPLASH), WYNADOTTES (BLRW), SILKIES (Lavender, Paints)

Maybe, I just heard from somewhere from a breeder that Ganoi occasionally came naked-necked? I believe Doc even mentions in his Malgache article they are the same thing (he believes)? I don't know Ganoi or Malgache so you maybe right, I have read information on both but they were never something I really looked deeply into. More of a Shamo and Brazilian guy, then it would be Malay and the Asil with Thai following closely behind Asil.

God bless,

Daniel.

The current convo sounds simular to an Am Staff owner/breeder and a Pit Bull owner/breeder. They may or may not be the same breed. It is the beauty of the animal to the owner/breeder that matters! Just an outside opinon

He looks healthy. Nice feather quality. thumbsup.gif

Hard to tell much else with him moving around and all.

For conversation sake -  He looks like he might have Thai or Ganoi in blood and Brazilian??

8 month old Thai. Tail not finished growing in.

Been working with Cubalayas for 4 years, I have many colors but am more focused on perfecting type at this point. I have recently begun to work with Ko Shamo in wheaten. My Dad raises Columbian Wyandotte Bantams. I have Tufted Roman Geese, sheep, and goats as well. Usually have about 100 chickens midsummer, and overwinter 20-30.
