chooks = grown chickens...

chickens = baby chooks/ chicks.. lol

The difference between pets and pests is only on which side of the fence they're standing... keep your animals in your own property.

I am pretty sure the word came about when someone started to say "chicken" just as the bully hen popped him on the big toe with her beak.  Ch..OOK!
