Is there a name for those glass or china eggs folks (used to) put in a nest to encourage egg-laying?  I'm almost positive I've heard a term for it, but all this time spent with my head in a small box full of chickens is interfering with my memory.

Dummy eggs usually. Or Rubber eggs or Plastic eggs etc, just depends on what the person selling them is calling them half the time. wink

in case you were wondering you can buy the ceramic/fake eggs at crackle barrel. you can get them in white or brown. they are about $1.70 each.  my hens love them. my hens dont like golf balls they just push them out of the box.
