What are these sores on my chickens waddle and comb?

Hello,

I do have a similar question, but this is the only place that seems like a familiar thread, however ours seems much worst.

The other Hens in the flock (six if them) is fine and free roaming, and this one is also broody. I don't know if her being broody might be the cause of this or not.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

We are having the same issues with our chickens. One of them has is so bad that her eye is closed. I looked it up and it appears that they have Fowl Pox. here is the link I found: http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/ps044
it doesn't have a treatment at this time so I am hoping that it will get better on it's own. I just feel bad for these sweet girls!

I caught it in my chickens early and I picked the dry scabs off threw the scabs In the garbage cause the scabs can carry the disease for a couple of months. And what I did after that was I made a homemade solution and put all over where they had it I mixed rubbing alcohol and 3 percent hydrogen peroxide about half and half and just take it and make sure you rub it all over of where they had it and it cleared up and went away but I caught it before it got to there respiratory system and once they have it they can't get it again. It's a slowly moving disease but it can kill your birds after a bit.
