Happy Hatching vibes to you!!!

That's such a sweet picture! I haven't given my 8-week-olds yogurt before--their treat of choice is oatmeal. They completely freak out when they see me come in the room with the small blue bowl I always use. How gratifying is that happy peeping and clucking? I love it.

I need to take and post pictures of my 3-week-olds. One is mostly white with buff and a little black... maybe a mille fleur? And the darker one almost looks birchen right now but she's getting some random white feathers in. They're very different from the other chicks I've hatched so far.

Happy Valentine's Day! I have 3 new babies (2 Othello and 1 Gino) and waiting on my last egg from my pair to hatch! Here are the 3-week-olds:

At second glance those wing feathers on the lighter baby look just like the other pullets'--bet she turns out buff columbian too!

Adorable!!!  Are these from your eggs Kelsey?  How are the babies this morning?

Yes! They're from my eggs. Love these two... they're a little more skittish than my first four, but they're sweet. I put the babies that hatched yesterday in with these two and they're absolutely terrified of the little ones. The babies kept trying to cuddle up to them and peck at their toes, and these two just kept turning their heads away toward the box so they wouldn't have to look at them. The only interaction was when the Gino baby had a little something on her beak, and the chick in the 1st picture gently tried to peck it off. I'm watching them closely this afternoon to see how they do. So far they're staying under the brooder for the most part, venturing out to peck at food every once in awhile. The special needs baby hasnt even tried to peck at the food or come out from under the brooder yet. I set her in the food dish and she just wanted to burrow into the warmest body next to her.

Hoping the babies are still doing ok?

Today is egg setting day for me.  I will be setting eggs from own babies, from Alexis' babies (which were my babies lol), and two other friends.  One batch is from a white pair and the others are chocolates plus very other colors. The hatching gods have to smile on me soon, right?

Yes they are! I sent you an email yesterday. Wink is getting around just fine--she comes out from under the brooder quite a bit but refuses to eat or drink. I know she can open her beak because I saw her yawn this morning, so I'm not sure what her deal is. All she cares to do is cuddle hu.gif

The first 3 wk/old in the pictures I posted seems to be getting some pink in the comb and wattles... I was pretty sure that was a pullet! Hoping chick #2 is a pullet to keep things even.
