New Diet - Page 14

Stick with it Deb. I used the cold turkey method each time I quit smoking 12 years ago. I just made up my mind that I would not quit quitting until I had quit. Now that should be clear as mud.

I lost another pound today. It is slow going but I will just keep moving my butt and eating as healthy as I can. Never give up!

LOL!!!!  I totally understood that!!!  I feel like I have gained, but I have paid so much attention to my food intake, it may be impossible.  I do not own a scale.  I use the one at work, and since we moved, I have no CLUE where it is.

The scale thing would help, cause sometime I feel bloated and the pants seem tight, but it is really just air. I broke down and bought one about a month ago and am very glad I did. I really should be measuring my waist line too. I know from past experience that sometimes the weight loss will stall but the inches will be coming off.
Lets face it, we need all the motivation to keep going that we can get.

Hello, everybody!

Just wanted to check in and was so glad to hear that you changed centers, herfrds! The old center will not survive if they don't start being more customer service oriented. (especially given the pricey-ness of the program itself!) It is a 30 minute ride for me to mine, but they are so supportive and helpful that I wouldn't change even if I found one closer to my home. Glad to hear you're back on track again!

So far (since Dec 28, 2011) my total loss is 35 lbs. And I have gone from a size 20W jean to a size 16. I didn't think I would ever get below 200 lbs again, but thankfully, I've made it to 185! I feel like a new person but getting dressed is a problem! A good problem...is there such a thing? And really, I owe much to you for your encouragement. Please accept my thanks!

I wondered about the MiO. My center says you can have two single serve Crystal Lights a day, and that's good because there are lots of days that I probably wouldn't get my water in without them. Do you know what MiO has in it that causes the problem?

To Debi -- hang in there. Quitting smoking is really, really hard, but you will feel so good when you kick it! To everyone who is working on their weight.. Good for you, and don't be discouraged. Be good to yourselves!

Marcy

That is GREAT news Marcy! celebrate.gif

You are very welcome. Keep going strong, I'm pulling for you!

Yes it is a wonderful problem when you have trouble with your clothes not fitting correctly anymore.

I just bought a new pair of capris yesterday and I gotta take them back and get a size smaller.gig.gif

No idea what is in the MiO that causes the weight loss to stall. I have read the label several times. Might just have to do a search on the ingredients and see what I can find.

Since I quit smoking, I have paid very close attention to what I eat.  I am not eating more or worse, yet I feel bloated quite a bit.  On that note, I have a Dr. appt on the 29th to have my hormones checked - I turned 50 in Oct and things are not "normal".  LOL!  I haven't been on  a scale since I last weighed in at 193.  That is 70 lbs gone.  I soooo hope nothing has come back - nicotine does amp up the metabolism....  I am afeared!!!!

If "The Change" is possible things are not normal. I've already gone through it. Only problem with the weight loss is all the hormones stored in the fat are coming out and the hot flashes started again. Bleah!tongue.gif

Deb just keep watching what you are eating.hugs.gif Stay strong you will beat thse cigarettes.

After I just ingested 3 cheese slices (not the processed ones) I can say I am feeling ok tonight!!!  i am good with the smokes.  I smelled one yesterday and I like it.  That is not good.  Ken hated it and that IS good.

I used tobacco years ago, so I know about that liking the smell.

Going on a trip out of state. I am leaving this Friday. Talked with my center about the trip. they wanted to know if I was going to stick to the diet or cheat. Told them I plan some cheating. They said Ok just don't go hog wild and pork out. Planning on my protein drink for breakfast and snack and then eat lunch and dinner just like my present dinner.

So to get ready I ate a banana and a glass of milk yesterday. Now I know what some one with irritated bowel syndrome goes through. Just doing it easy. I hate the thought of being on vacation and being miserable.

I am a bit nervous, but as long as I stick to my plan I hope to keep my weight steady and (hopefully) won't gain a lot.

Got back from Hawaii.

I went off the diet, but only put back on 5 pounds. Back on the diet now though. I did try to stick right on the diet but it was pretty darn hard. Did my best.

Was pretty darn active. Went into the center and they said even though I put weight back on my fat % had stayed the same. They believe I put on some muscle hiking up Diamond Head and snorkling and hiking all over the place.

Had what is called a NET session with the Dr. It is mainly to help me reset my brain to get back on the diet and to get motivated again. I have another session scheduled in 2 weeks.

It was rather interesting. He had me hold out my arm and asked questions, when my arm moved that showed the area where something was bothering me. He would have me place my hand on my forehead and my other hand either on my collar bone or my heart or my belly button and he would have me breath deeply while he tapped me on the back of my neck then between my shoulder blades then my lower back.

It really did help.

Seems weird but I was glad it was helping.
