Incubators Anonymous - Page 202

I penned up my easter eggers and thrw in my blue AMeraucana. THen I realized I need to collect their eggs now, and during the next weeks as I love what has been hatching.

I'm sure I will love the blue AM chicks, too!

ok...  something's wrong. LOL  or maybe not.

i have 2 incubators running, and neither have room for an extra egg. in fact i've got 2 i'm turning by hand off to the side in one, and 4 more eggs hand turning in my hatcher!  then again, the eggs go in the hatcher tomorrow, to make room for more. that should be in the mail.oh and the 2 swaps that haven't even shipped out yet...

i'm just afraid if i fix the 3rd incubator i'll fill it up too and still be short on space. and part of me's hoping that some of the mutt eggs i set will be clear. some are potentially not mutts, but mixed color or pure cochins.  i'll know if they're pure for sure, if i get any self blue (lavender)..

hoping tomorrow afternoon isn't too rainy... i need to relocate the quail to the freezer, and move their pen and another just like it so i can move out all 41 dorking chicks into them to make room for the ones due to hatch over the next 3-4 weeks...

Welcome to the Zoo!  2 Morgans, 2 Minis, 1 Standard Poodle, 3 cats, 3 pet birds and the chickens.

Dorkings and bantam Cochins mostly, with a few others here and there.

And of course, my wonderful Hubby, who puts up with me and keeps me in check when I start to get crazy.

Well I am going to slow down for a few months.  Only going to hatch what I need for my flock.  Since my chicks are not really selling, I am going to hold on to them till I can pick out the roos and then sell the pullets.

Arielle is filling all her incubators up... lau.gif  Didn't you say your bators were full?

I am going to sell all the eggs I can the first of the week, then I think I am going to start thinning my layers down.  I don't need 9 barred rock pullets or 6 olive eggers.  May combine some pens.... lots of planning in my future he.gif

awww wished you were closer I would love to get some of your olive eggers  I lost mine last year to a dog getting into my coop where they were. Loved that hen. She followed me around in the yard when I was doing my chores outside.

sounds like you are going to be busy tomorrow.  Sounds like the day we had the other day.  Had to get the pen built for the silkies so I could use the pen they were in for a grow out pen. ( that is what I intended it to be used for when I bought this property) Then get it tilled out and refreshed.  I put in  my 4 white ameracauna chicks in it last night so far they seem to be having a blast.  I have 3 black silkies I am thinking of starting to integrate with my full size silkies sense they are all feathered out and seem ready to be with the others. So that leaves me a cage open.  I need to really find something to do with my 75 meat chickens that DH ordered from a farm yesterday.  They are taking up 2 big cages, rabbit hutch and 2 that are on their own for now. 1 looked like it was being picked on and the other is there to keep it company.   I have 25 eggs that go into lock down Friday so I will need to find a place for all of them as well.

I am thinking of integrating the white ameracauna's with the adults, putting all the meat chickens in the grow out pen and just raising the chicks in the cages till its butcher time.

ok...  i'm *almost* in trouble...  maybe not almost. LOL

i've got 90 eggs between the 2 incubators and the hatcher, with some fbcm on the way, and bbs ameraucana and wellies from another couple swaps. i have 9 spaces open in the egg turners currently.

tho i guess i could put a turner in the hatcher once this hatch is done...  thumbsup.gif ding!  think i found a solution!
