Welcome to the Zoo!  2 Morgans, 2 Minis, 1 Standard Poodle, 3 cats, 3 pet birds and the chickens.

Dorkings and bantam Cochins mostly, with a few others here and there.

And of course, my wonderful Hubby, who puts up with me and keeps me in check when I start to get crazy.

The vet wrap goes around the leg? The pipe cleaners on top of the wrap if you need another color? Wow! I'm going to try that. Thanks!

The vet wrap is for young chicks.  The velcro is what I wrap the pipe cleaners on.  I will post pics later tonight.... when the kids go to bed.

It seems as if I've been waiting forever! I ordered last fall. Got confirmation in January. Got a letter (or email) that said " due to slow laying rates in my selected breeds"  they wouldn't ship until after April 10. I looked online and my breeds are all sold out until 2013. I'm waiting... I'm sure I must be one of the folk they are sold out to but still... I'm hoping mine goes out this Monday! Or  sometime... soon...

Thanks for the tip about Pastey Butt. I'll check for it.

Ok babies are in bed.... and I am home clap.gif

I use velco (also available in lots of colors too) and then wrap a pipe cleaner around the velcro.  the velcro stays on VERY WELL.  I have only ever had one come off, it got stuck to another tag.

Here are my divider baskets too.  I use a basket from the dollar type store (collapsable ) added the craft canvas to divide them like I need.  I have them with one divider, two dividers and four dividers like the picture.  You can make the baskets out of the canvas too.. I used old phone wire to attach the to the basket.  You could SEW them with yarn, or wire or just use zip ties wink.png

Do you use the Velcro on chicks or full grown chickens? If it is the chicks, isn't it a bit big for their little legs? Or do you cut it down?

Have you ever seen velstretch - stretchy Velcro? I have some dog boots with this and thought it was neet but I can't find it.
Hens: 16 Leghorns or California Whites, 5 Trader Joe's Leghorns, 14 Red Stars or Gold Stars, 10 Buff Orpingtons, 2 Rhodes Island Reds, 4 Silver Laced Wyandotes, 4 Ameraucana, 7 Barred Rock, 1 Silver Laced Wyandote X Barred Rock, 1 Leghorn X Barred Rock. = 64 Hens - chicks 89
Roosters: 1 Trader Joe's Leghorn Rooster, 1 Leghorn X Barred Rock Rooster
Nursing Home hatch-a-long

I usually put it on the the birds when they are about 2 mths.  the roos I will have to loosen it up, but not usually the pullets.  the chicks I use Vetwrap.

I need to look that up.... velstretch, cool!
