Do ya'll have any experience with White Laced Red Cornish?  I ended up with one when I won an auction on ebay.  I've looked it up one here but I want some recent first hand experience.

I get a few squabbles on occasion when a new bird thinks it should be head of the coop & Ruby & Lily have to take them down a notch or 2, but other than that no real problems. Squabbles are short lived & rarely amount to more than a few yanked feathers.

I'm going to try to introduce my younger chicks into the coop tonight while the girls are resting.  What time do you usually put yours in?  I didn't know if I needed to what until after midnight or if now would be ok.

looks like a little over half of the blrw eggs i bought are developing. fl.gif

too soon to say for sure, but i think i see life in a bunch of the marans from you Donna. the rocks were easier to candle. 100% fertile, but 4 were blood rings.

looks like my own roosters are on vacation tho. i've got 2 of 15 ee/dorkings fertile i think...  but then again, over half the eggs are pullet eggs from their first week of laying.  i've still got time tho. my customer doesn't need them until september 20. I just figured i'd get a jump on them. i dont think she'll mind that a few are older than the rest.  glad i did. now i know to set everything i can. LOL

Welcome to the Zoo!  2 Morgans, 2 Minis, 1 Standard Poodle, 3 cats, 3 pet birds and the chickens.

Dorkings and bantam Cochins mostly, with a few others here and there.

And of course, my wonderful Hubby, who puts up with me and keeps me in check when I start to get crazy.

hugs.gifHope the others survived their trip.  So sorry for the others that you lost.  Always sad to lose some when you've been anticipating their arrival.

The Marans are molting, so I was not sure.  I have had more clears lately.  That is exactly why I send so many extras.  I hope they all develop for you and you have a good hatch.  The Rocks are GREAT even shipped.  Don't be surprised if they all hatch too. thumbsup.gif

ok i'm ROFL...   i just realized, i only set those eggs 2 days ago...

i've been having some health problems so haven't collected eggs every day. and a bunch of broodies too. add all that together, I've got a couple eggs ahead of the curve. even tho they sat on the shelf a day or 2 before i set them.  but i'm still going to set some more i think. *just in case*

I am seeing split wing in all my current GNH so I think they will be hitting the road SOON duc.gif  Why would someone breed that.... really????? Charge me $35 a doz for CRAP!

I am going to give them one more go and if this does not work out, I will just breed my Reg NH.... they are great layers of BIG eggs and my neighbor has some too so we can trade genes.   I love the color on the GNH.  If I can find 1 or 2 pullets (doubtful) without split wing I am going to work with her and my reg NH roo to see if I can get some lacing on the Germans.

i've got 1 barred rock pullet growing out from a swap earlier this summer, so hen or roo, i wouldn't mind adding a blue or 2.  and i think a customer (becoming a good friend) might want a couple too.

are your marans feather legged or clean legged? k.i.forgot strikes again. LOL

All mine are feathered, but you will get a mix.  Sometime I do get ALL feathered, but usually a mix.  I find people either LIKE feathered legs or they DON'T so either way I don't have a problem selling them wink.png
