Coop Cam - Page 7

Foscam makes outdoor and indoor cameras. All tilt and pan. I use the indoor 1 in my coop.  And i have an outdoor 1 waiting to be installed.  This is the camera I am familiar with and have had good results. No stock in the company or anything.  Hope this helps.

I'm using the same P&T outside. I protect them as best I can from rain. I'll have pictures of my setup soon. The rain beat me on one. I lost WiFi and the ability to pan & tilt. They are inverted. If you can keep water from getting in though the bottom holes, they seem survivable. Of course, FOSCAM does no make, nor warrant the cameras [FI8918] that I use outside. Yet, their outdoor camera does not P&T, plus it is about $30 more.

The cams save me time. I use the cameras to understand what chickens do, to check their food, to see that they are using watering stations, to know predators are not lurking, etc. I do so from the comfort of my home or when away, the convenience of my iPhone. The cams are also handy to show others I'm talking to my setup & chickens.BTW, my grand kids, who have seen the chickens in person, love following them on camera. Family and friends also check that i am OK  Live vids are even better than pictures, which beat words. Hey, I'm not justifying--just testifying.

I could be wrong. It's not installed yet and hubby bought this one. I will check the box later and post again.

Thanks jalexartis!

you said you use the same camera outdoors; my run is covered, so I guess I'll take the chance and install one inside and one outside.

I'm thinking of getting this deal - 2 FI8918W plus two antenaes for $161.00

I do and your cost is the best deal I have found. I use Amazon Prime and therefore 2-day shipping is  "free." Of course, I pay an annual fee for that; but, I'm a FREQUENT shopper.

I use wired and wireless cams. I think my wireless are slower to pan [and maybe tilt]. It takes a bit of patience to see how the camera responds. Video quality seems the same.

The best and enjoy your cameras.

You r right and I was wrong. Panning and tilting is not mentioned on the box.
Remote viewing and recording
Day/night surveillance
IR-LED for night vision up to 30m
motion detection/alarm

No pan/tilt

Didn't mean to mislead anyone.
