How can you tell if a duck is broody?
With mine I will notice them 'missing' at night for a few days but during the day they will still be with the flock. They've all done this for 2-3 days before 'sticking' to the nest.
- Overrun with Runners
Mine make sweet little nests, and stay on them (until there are peas offered, or everybody is going to take a walk, or . . . they're runners so broody is a relative term).
Anyway, broodiness makes them sit and sit on the eggs, and they get quite agitated if they are kept away from the nest too long. Some refuse to get up for ANYTHING. But others will sprint toward the food dish and water dish, make a big poop, then run back and sit on the eggs.
