egg problem

I just hard boiled 6 eggs from my leghorns went to peel them and they have a sandy finish under that little layer of film and the have a jello consistancy with the yolk very hard and dry any reasons regular store bought for the same amount of time 15 min was perfect.

3 White Leghorns, 26 Black Astralorps (1ROO) and 2 Indian Runner Ducks

Interesting. I had some that the yolk never fully cooked. It was runny. They were smaller and the rest in the pan cooked just fine. I chalked it up to just not cooking them long enough, but it was strange as I have boiled many an egg, and never experienced that...
