Can bantam hen mate with barred rock roo? - Page 2

I have a 9 lb Barred Rock rooster and his favorite girl is my smallest adult hen, a Barred Rock that is a standard, but a very, very small 5 lb standard. Her feathers are awful and I had to buy her a chicken saddle. Just him trying to balance while mating is rough on her.

LOL, well, some people call it an apron. Someone I know here on BYC makes them and sells them-they have elastic and some quilt batting in them. Here's a picture of my Barred Rock, Lexie, trying to remove hers the first day she had it on. Also, my Buff Orp, Ginger, in the pic with Lexie, has hers because she is the co-favorite of my rooster.
