The few times I've had to use it, it stopped bleeding much faster than the other methods I used to use-- of course it all depends on the wound. Worked really well on bleeding bird nails though!

I've actually used it on myself when I stuck my thumb with a knife and couldn't stop the bleeding... it worked really well and the sting was very minor (nothing compared to alcohol for example).
