crust between toes that cracks and bleeds, please help!

Hello all, I have often looked at this site for information but have not joined previously because the answers were always here.
I have a small free range egg business in Victoria, australia.  I have 450 Isa Brown Hens, separated into 7 flocks.  We just finished a VERY wet winter with mud on the ground for a few months.  The mud dried up a few weeks ago as we are now in Spring. About a month ago I notice a hen with a bleeding hole in her foot, I separated her and then found another hen and another hen. They were all from the same flock.  I have now found hens that have what looks like mud between their toes, in other flocks.  I think this is how the problem starts.  the mud-sore then splits or is pecked at and then it bleeds. once it is bleeding the poor hen gets no piece and her foot is pecked to a bloody mess in hours.
I now have 15 hens separated and I am running out of things to make little cages from!  Please help!
I have lots of photos of the sores, is there a way I can upload a photo?

Deuteronomy 32:11
He is like an eagle that stirs up its nest. It hovers over it little ones. It spreads out it wings to catch them on its feathers.

Save the pics to your comp. Then go to uploads in the blue bar at the top where index and messages are. Choose browse and then upload. Paste the img link into the post but delete where it says img at both the beginning and the end of the tag and submit. If it doesn't work correctly, you can always edit your post and fix.

Could it be mites! Are the scales of their feet or legs lifted up anywhere else?

If the sky is the limit then why are there footprints on the moon?

The chicken came first for me!

"Cracked feet and foot dermatitis may be pantothenic acid or biotin deficiency, but scaly leg is caused by mites."
