Houston Chicken Swap Meet, Lets Start One!

Hi I am looking for some laying hens. I have tried wan ash feed and they don't seem to have the variety I am looking for.
I am needing brown egg layers. I would like 8 hens that are already laying.
If anyone here has a great variety please let me know. Karan's, welsummers, Rhode Island reds, EE, ISA, etc..
Looking to get them around 2nd week of June.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I live in sugarland area. I have tried them, and like many others they have chicks only. I am looking for hens that are laying already. I have looked on Craigslist(mostly roosters they are trying to get rid of), blue star ranch($40..00 per hen) a bit more than I want to pay, TSC only sells chicks as well, wabash feed sells hens, however they seem to have mostly leghorns, and I thought I might see if anyone on here has 8 hens they are willing to part with.

I gotcha now! I wish you luck in getting what you want.

How is the flooding in your area? I live on the south side of Rosenberg and so far we are doing okay.

Lisa :)

Dry so far, however if the river rises much more we won't be. It's a too close for my comfort!!
I am thankful for the levves though!!! Glad you are holding up!! It's nice to hear that there are some others on byc that are so close to me!!
I live in Greatwood actually!! (Yes, I know deed restrictions an all!:))

I know this isn't the proper place to post this but I am desperate to get in touch with chicken owners in the Houston area. My HOA is building in my backyard and I am not suppose to have chickens. I have two beautiful egg laying hens that need to find a new safe home soon. So much for being the rebel chicken owner :(

Have you talked to HOA? I know that some of them will allow hens but no roosters. Maybe if you had your neighbors sign a petition, you can keep your girls.

What kind of hens do you have and how old are they?

Lisa :)
