I just realized that there are a lot of topics in this genre about specific breeds of birds. But none for mutts. So i decided to start one knowing that these birds can also be quite lovely!! I don't have any pics of some myself right now, since they are all chicks, but once they grow up i will be sure to post some!! So go ahead and show off your mutts!!! big_smilebig_smilebig_smile

Well, there have been some mutt threads, but we're always eager to share photos. Here's Elphaba, probably hatched April-May, isn't laying yet. She's cochin and mystery parent. I bought her at Nava's swap a month ago and didn't bother to ask specifics. I am very very happy I bought her. She may be the most afraid of human touch, but she is the bosom buddy of an AS roo (pictured) I bought the same day. She has feathered feet which we love, but the original hens find great to pick off of her.

I have had chickens ONLY since May 2008.  I am NO EXPERT!  I raise German Sheps since 1989.  I raise chickens with a dog breeder's mentality.  I breed for traits.  And put them all together and call it a burd.
