I always worry about the weather being too cold for my birds... I know my ducks are fine with the very cold days & nights. But what about chickens? How cold is too cold? Is the low 50's too cold outside for 2 chicks(6 1/2 weeks old)? In a pretty small dog house with LOTS of Hay Inside & Outside & Under the dog house too.... They have been sleeping outside now for a couple of weeks some nights a little colder than others but this was the first rainy night. I make sure their all tucked in inside their little house right before dark & when i check on them their just cuddled together in a corner sleeping. Thanks, ~Julie~

If your chicks are feathered out, and by now they should be, they will be fine...my chickens handle the -20* winters with no added heat...they keep themselves warm...cuddle and down feathers do the trick, just make sure there is enough ventilation
