Hey Basshawg,

There are many people over on the Buckeye thread (http://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=7427926) that probably has stock for sale. . . You could also try BuckeyeDave ( http://www.buckeyechickens.com/ ) in Ohio, he's got some nice ones.
Good luck,
Mitch

I sell Buckeye chicks, hatching eggs when avail & extra roos for that great meat. This is a dual breed bird that are a blast to raise. They LOVE to eat a snake or two & will chase down mice & eat them also. Their antics can be watched all day,you will never trier from watching. I have been raising buckeyes for over 7 years now & truly love the breed...Watch out for those HIGH price birds Buckeye Dave sells SR...50-60% roos or more after waiting months for your flock in NOT funny plus you pay up front...If you want show/pet quality Buckeyes, contact me thru my personal website: www.wildoatsorganic farm-ameraucanas.com I also sell the True blue eggers: The Ameraucanas.

I looked  for  hatching eggs for over a year  and  finally  have 21 in the  incubator ,,  the eggs  were not as large as I would have liked  but they are supposed to be buckeye  ,,  sure  hope  the  folks that sold them to me  didn't ship buckeye bantam eggs  ,  but  we  will  expect  them  on  12/2 and go from  there ,,

I have Buckeye's, they are terrific and prettier than pics can show. I will try and post one.  They are an Ohio breed, the only breed created by a woman. The name comes from the deep red color, resembling a Buckeye. The tail feathers on the rooster are a very dark green and they have pea combs. The big rooster thinks he is a pet. He follows me everywhere and any open door is just a big chicken coop. Leave a door open and he next be found standing in the dinning room!. I got mine from a breeder here in Ohio and he is show quality, the girls a great layers. They get a nice size for butchering if you like, but mine won't see that. If you want good layers, winter hearty and nonaggression birds these are a great choice.

Did you get your buckeyes from Meyer, and how did that experience go? If you got them, how would you compare them to other chickens you ate ?
