do easter eggers lay blue eggs

Quote:
Blue earlobes? Really? I need to see a picture of that! We are still waiting on our three EE's though just in the last couple of days two of them have gotten VERY red in the face. One of them has been squatting for about a week now, so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I have 4 EEs that started laying in August. One lays a blue-green egg, 2 lay green eggs and 1 lays a cream-colored egg. I also have an Ancona that lays a white egg, and a NHR and Jersey Giant that lay brown eggs. I love all the pretty egg colors, and they look so lovely in the egg cartons! I really wanted some blue eggs, though. So I've got four Araucanas - hopefully at least two will be pullets - that are just 8 weeks old. By springtime, I'll add blue eggs to my egg cartons. And because I enjoy my EEs so much - I have two EE chicks, too.

My EEs are the most fascinating birds. Since they're mutts, there are so many different looks.

Both my EE's are pure black coloured, one lays a blue egg and one lays a green egg.

Not sure you can see how blue her earlobes are in these. She's skittish and I can't get any closer. Stupid cat was sitting in the chicken door scaring them too, which doesn't help. I can just see them clenching their vents closed when he's around. The minute we catch him and throw him inside, the eggs just come pouring out.

He just sits there staring at them in the nest box and apparently I have very private chickens.

ETA: On my monitor, they just look white and they're electric baby blue. Sigh.
