Although we live in the county, the nearest town is 27,000 people and hasn't changed much in the 30+ yrs we've lived here. However, for some odd reason, we have the biggest darned WALMART in the state of KY and it's the third largest in the whole country (or it was when the built it a few yrs ago anyway). Why, I have no idea, but we all hate it.
Out where we live, we have 'neighbors' on either side, each about 1/4 mile away in each direction, nobody to the back, just cornfield, nobody across the road, more cornfield...that's how we like it. And we moved 'closer to town' about 13 yrs ago - not really to be closer to town, just to a bigger house.

I've always wanted to live in a bigger city with all the lights and train lines running under the streets, but I'm growing to like it here.
