they are water containers.. they are also used for other liquids.. just make sure it was used for food grade stuff and not chemicals

question for the more experienced goose raisers, how much space for night area would trio (might make it two pairs later this fall) would need???? thinking of building or buying something big and able for me to walk in this year if it works out. and work for when they have little ones too. 6x12??? or bigger???

This is what we call Duckingham Palace. It is 24 x 48 (I think) and has a house and a little pool for them (their pool is a buried 600 gal stock tank). We clean the pool using a bilge pump. The pen is secure enough that they sleep under the stars 99% of the time; only on the most brutal of winter nights do we shut them into their house. They prefer it that way. They of course have access to it whenever they want but they don't often use it except to lay. It keeps the food dry, though!

Requesting the guidance of experienced geese owners! We've been looking into getting geese for a while now and figure that we'll need a small breed because we're only on an acre. We currently have a duck coop and a chicken coop, the chicken coop is about 7 feet tall while the duck coop is sloped at 4 feet. Both coops have secure runs and the ducks have a fantastic pond! From the things that I've gathered from reading on this website and others geese are fairly compatible with other breeds. Though could the goose live in with the ducks? By the time we'd get it we would have at least 10 ducks in the coop. I worry it'll get cramped in there for them, especially when they're stuck in there on wintery days. There will be raised nesting boxes for the chickens and probably enough floorspace for the goose to sleep. I don't know how happy the goose would be with the chickens and we have some chickens that don't roost. Dose anyone have any experience with geese and other birds? Or some much needed advice???

We use low shed as their nesting and sleeping quarters. These are about 8ft long, 4 ft deep and about 4.5ft high with a ventilation grill along the top. The centre door means we can use either side as a nesting area and accomadates our trios without any problem.
