X2 I would like to learn how to make soap to. I can't sew to save my life! If we have buttons that need put back on... my husband does it! That's how bad I am! But my oldest daughter loves to sew and has been making things for school projects this last year. So at least one in the family can sew.

Hobbies?

Well, I'm a gemologist, goldsmith, and silversmith. I've used the lost wax process to make jewelry.
I've built many things out of wood carpentry skills with various hand and power tools.
I hunt and fish.
I garden.
I raised a couple yard-apes.
I keep chickens/guineas.
I maintain an orchard and vineyard along with berry bushes and nut trees---apart from the annual garden.
I perform auto mechanics as much as possible, my son is a professional "Wrench God"

That's all for R&R, professionally I'm a Nuclear Technician.

Just a old coot with some backyard chickens and a garden.

I think I spent around $60 for my equipment plus the olive oil and coconut oil. I know now that I can get the olive oil cheaper but there is a thread on this forum with soap makers, and this hobby could cost a mint if you get into the additives like the fragrances and colorants!

My favourite things to do would be to think, write, and work. I love to work. big_smile

I make pottery but find it hard to carve out time to spend in my home studio (have my own potters wheel, kiln, etc) so taking a weekly class keeps me engaged in the hobby.  I also make a lot of ceramic beads and hope to turn them into jewelry some day.  I recently made beads with pictures of chicks on them, they're kinda funny looking chicks though (I'm not really a painter smile

I love pottery and really need to do more... maybe I can find some time today :-)

Got my first chicks in March, 2011; 4 easter eggers hens (Morticia, Natasha, Samantha & Lily);  We also have a boxer mix rescue dog (Bruno), two cats (Betty Lou & Fred) and quite a few fish (commonly referred to as 'the fish sticks').
