If you have well water, and it has a sulfer smell, then you can have stinky eggs if your chickens drink that.....

Proud owner of some nice show quality Buckeyes and Silver Penciled Plymouth Rocks.  I love gardening and being outdoors.  I'm lucky to have a great family, and two cute dogs.  I live out in the country on six wooded acres and it's just paradise!  (Except the mortgage payment and bills, of course)

It is recommended that you give flax seed instead of fish oil (for Omega 3) to prevent fishy tasting eggs. wink

The bag said omega 3 on the flax seed bag. I feed my girls flax seed, food grade apple cider vinegar, wheat, oats and barley and I think that will make richer eggs. JMHO

Bird seed is usually millet, black oil sunflower seed, and if you get the expensive stuff- it's Nyjer thistle seed. No flax seed.

I've been wondering if the chickens eat a lot of stink bugs whether the eggs will get the stink bug stink.  My chicks love them and eat them by the dozens, but they're not laying yet.  Was just wondering.
