I have always wanted Capercaillie, but i don't think they are available in the states.

I believe about ten years ago a couple of breeders in Canada had a few, but I don't ever remember anyone in the USA having them. Ten to fifteen years ago there was a couple of articles I believe in either the APWS or the Gamebird Gazzette of a couple of grouse breeders in Canada that had them as well a Ptarmagin and alot of the Grouse speices as well. In think all the grouse are amazing birds, and would like to try some someday.

Does anyone know how someone can buy some Black grouse chicks

Really can't purchase grouse as chicks from my experiences - especially Black Grouse. Grouse chicks are pretty fragile, and would not ship/transport easily as they would land up all deceased.

Grouse are not as easy to raise as a Ring-Necked Pheasant. I'm not saying it's impossible to raise grouse, but keepers of grouse have to be very vigilant with respect to the health and welfare of grouse.
