Leghorns are great egg laying chickens. They are friendly to other Leghorns and can easily fly. The only problems is that they are bad in the pecking order and they can make a mess of the yard....

the one with the hole is a lakenvelder..only 1 of 15 eggs was fertile, and the other 8 are silkies..9 of 14 were fertile, but one blood ringed

bacterial ring I think is what they say, this is only my 1st hatch, my second time setting, but my first ones died on like day 10 b/c of major temp spike

I've got another 6 going into lockdown tomorrow morning. It's pretty funny, I started up the hatcher last Wednesday, put 7 eggs into lockdown Thursday. Three hatched late Saturday, three hatched Sunday, and one Monday. Cleaned out the hatcher Monday night, then had to fire it back up again this morning to equalize in time for the next 6 to go into lockdown tomorrow morning. Then I have another 6 that look good and would be due to go into lockdown NEXT Thursday. Haha! It's too much fun, I may be addicted. :)
