is there anyway to get the hens to use another nest box????????? - Page 2

On the weekends, I will check the nest boxes and move any egg I find to a different box. This 'encourages' the girls (I have only 4...) to lay in that box. Occasionally, I will find eggs in multiple boxes because of my 'encouragement.' But with your numbers, I'd gravitate to the fake egg option. Good luck.

Okay, slightly new question...Silver layed an egg the day after we brought her home and another 2 days after (in the nest box) but now it's been like 4-5 days and no egg...she is about 5ish years old so is this normal, sporadic, old hen laying behavior or should I be worried?

5 hens: 1 RIR, 1 BR, 1 White Leghorn, 1 Ameracauna and 1 SLW. 2 Indian Runner females, a black kitty and a bf that puts up with all my bird crazies!
