What's on your wish list for spring 2012?

I'll admit...it's only mid-fall and I'm already planning on what I want to add to my flock next spring. roll I'm thinning down & selling off some breeds to add others....selling my MF Cochins, Crevecoeurs, LF White Houdan and bantam white & mottled Houdan)...

I'm adding one of these breeds, I haven't which one decided yet:

Dominques
RC RIR
White Dorking (trying again)
Chanteclers

But I'll need a new coop. They'll be my "free range" birds for some hatching egg sales, but mostly grasshopper control, eating eggs and eating the extra cockerels.

I'll be hatching some more bantam Spangled Orloffs (I need more hens), as well as LF GL Cochins (need more hens and a replacement roo as mine is nearing 4yrs old now).

I am adding another goose breed...not sure what, yet....tried Shetlands and they didn't lay worth a crap. Leaning back towards Buffs (hatched them out this spring but sold them)....or maybe Lavenders....I love the look of the saddleback Poms....

I'll have to have DH build me another waterfowl pen...and he's already said no....lol

As for my projects....

Two more bantam coops!

Love it!!!  Love thinking about the future.

First breed our S.S. over our production reds to create some chestnut colored chicks. (hopefully)
Also breed our select stock of Barred Rocks.  That program is coming along nicely.

And finally, raise a big old batch of new ISA Browns again.  I miss having those pullets in the flock.

Oh, I'm always thinking about Springtime.....Chick time.......I would be so excited if I actually had a successful broody in my bantam coop.....

And my turkey pair, Bonnie and Cyde....I hope they hatch some eggs......Bonnie is a Blue Slate, Clyde being a Royal Palm....They would make beautiful splash babies together......roll

Proud owner of some nice show quality Buckeyes and Silver Penciled Plymouth Rocks.  I love gardening and being outdoors.  I'm lucky to have a great family, and two cute dogs.  I live out in the country on six wooded acres and it's just paradise!  (Except the mortgage payment and bills, of course)

I only have one LF White roo....I used him to create some more bantam whites...he's HUGE, though...almost as large as my Light Sussex Roo! Sandhill lines (no one else has them)....he's a little brassy, but otherwise has good type, other than a crooked toe, which he has not passed on. He's $10 if you want him. smile
