Hello from NE Florida!

Hello Folks!  I recently picked up my first 3 laying hens from a local person, who was moving into an apartment from a small residential lot.  We have a deep, 1-acre lot, which is zoned rural, so we're allowed to have chickens in our city.  Been thinking about doing this for a while, in preps for the world's economic collapse, so this weekend I got busy.  I'm looking forward to giving to and taking from this community.  big_smile

That's exciting! It's always fun getting your first birds! I encourage you to browse around and look at some of the topics on here lots of info that will help you get started!

My favorite chicken breeds are Blue Wheaten Ameraucanas,  Black Copper Marans and Norwegian Jaerhons,  I love raising chickens and talking about them. I'm working on breeding projects to better improve my favorite breeds!  I admit... I'm addicted to hatching!

Ur welcome,  Mississippi is my home. I'm from Batesville, it's one hour drive south of Memphis, TN and 20 mins west from Ole Miss in Oxford and live right where the delta meets the hills, and ten min drive north or south to two large lakes, Enid and Sardis.
