3rd Annual New Year's Day Hatch!!

Hatch is done... 17 eggs went into lockdown... 3 DIS about the same time.. 14 chicks hatched but 2 needed to be culled... One chick just layed on it's side getting stomped on by the others.. Not sure what was going on with that one... The second one had a bubble on the side of it's neck, which it's that big of a deal because most times it will go away on it's own from what I've read but it also had a deformed head.. So, 12 healthy chicks running around the brooder now.... Will post a pic shortly...

Want to congratulate everyone and also wish y'all a very Happy New Year!!!!!

I know this could have gone a lot of ways, but its all in fun right?
 
I'm still in hatch mode....Two of the lazy egg Marans have pipped. The ones NOT showing any activity are the ginormous Marans egg and 1 Faverolles. Token the TJ's egg and the last Faverolle to hatch are still hanging out in the bator fluffing up and getting their bearings.

In the meantime, all the rest have relocated to the guest house (at this time actually warmer than our house) and are eating and drinking LIKE PIGS!!!


I'm thinking that next year we should add a category of LAST HATCHED on New Year's Day.... (I'd be willing to sponsor it!)
