I have told they don’t breed as they don’t live long enough? I guess that is not true maybe i will try keeping a few of mine. I can tell the males from the female by both size and attitude funny. The one month old males are already holding their ground on the adults

Mine are going on 18 weeks old, i was shocked there was an egg. It was not there when i went out to feed around noon. I only have to females left now.

All cornishx are bred for meat production. They can and will mate...The issue lies with once they reach a certain size ( 8 weeks) they should be butchered because their systems ( heart, joints etc...) can't handle anymore growth. You will find folks who keep theirs for pets-LONG after they should have been butchered. If they are fed properly and cared for they will live alot longer. Not nearly as long as other non meat bred birds, but for a while. The males get too big to mate..thats the problem...

yes i'm sure that's what they are. And they are HUGE!!! as big as a basketball but with feathers. I weighed them the other day their 15 -20 lbs ea.

This is Ollie. Ollie weighed 18 lbs. when he passed away at a little less than 8 months old. He was still trying to mate right up to the end, but trying was all he could do. No matter how determined he just couldn't get point A to reach point B. Ollie was a commercial meat bird, a Cobb on Cobb, so even larger than the CX's you get from the hatcheries.
