We love our Nankin hen. She's very sweet and good natured, excellent bird for beginners or kids. She comes when called, she's an excellent bug hunter, likes to sit on your lap (or head, or...
I have 6 Barnies, they did start laying at about 28 weeks, but that is not an issue with me. Most of my poultry did. They don't lay the really dark eggs, but they are large, dark brown and some...
Leghorns are great egg laying chickens. They are friendly to other Leghorns and can easily fly. The only problems is that they are bad in the pecking order and they can make a mess of the yard....
I will start by saying that I love Australorps. In fact, my very favorite hen is an Australorp. She is such a sweet chicken and just let's you walk right up to her to pick her up. She doesn't run...
Now seeing it in this format I need to move! So sorry, I need 7-11. I wanted next to the North middle doors and that way the auctioneer can see me if I need to place a bid!
Poco - Yes, I can be your reminder for contacting the T.V. stations. Craigslist posts might be a good idea, too. Those can be posted anytime, so if it was me, I'd post it a couple of months ahead of time, then several more times in the weeks leading up to the event.

That's fine. I will make the change. It's just click and drag on the screen. Inside the building though, with cages, it will be drag, drag, drag to get cages moved around. Much better to make changes now

Craig's List - Yes! Thank you. I've put a note on my calendar to post in April, May, and June. And thanks for being my wakeup PM. I know how important advertising is, and I want everyone who is interested in chickens to have the opportunity to attend.
Have not read all 9 pages yet. We are in SE Arkansas, but grew up near Checotah. I would suggest asking the county 4H to have the concessions. Or a local church. Will subscribe so i can follow this.
Your prayers are appreciated! The divorce was granted.
I will be on/off BYC. If we owe you hatching eggs, please forward us the listing information. We are almost caught up on them and do not wish to miss anyone. Geese are now laying!

Hello Mr. Hall! We do have a girl scout troop lined up for our concessions. Your family needs to bring some of those beautiful gigantic Orpingtons of yours!
Hi, you popped over onto our Consolidated Kansas thread and now we're all curious! But we want to know what this 'chicken show' is? Is this a judged event? If this is judged-- are the little showing pens available and set up? Or is this a swap meet (or both?)... ??? I see you are having an auction and sellers/vendors-- which a lot of judged events have too... Can anyone clarify what this is? Thanks!

Hello and welcome! We are currently in the planning stages for a North East Oklahoma Chicken Stock. We are planning a pay the seller auction, along with many demonstrations put on by our own BYC'ers. We have arranged for a girl scout troop to provide the concessions. There are already booths being booked at this time for selling of chickens, crafts, cages and pens. We have a couple of artist in our group who will have some of their chicken art on display and for sale. I am currently working on the flyer that has dates times and location. Poco aka Coral has booked the Muskogee Fairgrounds livestock building for June 16th 2012 and the event will be sunup to sundown. You are welcome to bring all your friends and family. To my knowledge there are no judged events.
