I cant beleive it.
My Duck egg has just hatched and it is beautiful.

I had 7 chicken eggs and 5 hatched, they are now 2 weeks old and thriving.
I bought 6 duck eggs but they came late and i had a week gap between the two lots.
I only have one incubator. I am a learner and knew no better.

So I didnt give my duck eggs much hope as I was opening and closing and messing around too much, espacially after the chickens hatched.
The temp was all over the place as was the hydrometer readings.
The duck eggs still had 2 weeks incubation after that. Not good?

I kept them in though , but expected nothing. I had candled them just before I locked down for the chickens and threw 4 away. Good choice, I cracked them and they stank.
but it looked like I had two good ones.
After the chickens were born I kept them with the Duck eggs as I had nowhere else to keep them at such a young age and figured I had disrupted the Duck eggs so much i had no chance. I continued to turn the Duck eggs but never really thought it would account for anything.

Like I said my 5 chicks are thriving and this morning i was privaleged to watch the miracle i never expected.
I have a beautiful black and gold Dickling.

The other egg has no signs as yet but i will give it a couple of days.

i have added the hatch to my FB if people want to see it.

I hope that works?

If not I will post a couple of photos
