So i read that you can worm dogs with ground uncooked pumpkin seeds. Can you do that with ducks?
Garlic is also said to be an effective wormer with dogs... how about with ducks?

If not, what are other non-chemical ways to worm ducks and chickens?

Well, I wouldn't use large quanties of garlic on my dogs, it can be toxic.

I've heard people use pumpkin seeds for their ducks, I don't really know much about that and whether it really works that well. Mostly ducks don't have a lot of problems with worms anyway.

I probably wouldn't even worm my ducks, but because I wormed my chickens and they all drink out of the same waterers, they get wormed too. I have only used wazine for worming though.

I've used 3-4 drops of Ivomec by mouth on each of my Calls. A glass medicine dropper works well for this...the size of the duck determines how much you will use of this. I should note here that this usage is an off-label use, however...ivermectin is not indicated for use in ducks.

Please remember that Ivormectin goes into the eggs and that there are very few approved drugs for laying chickens and ducks.

Better to know why you are worming your animals.

(Garlic and pumpkin seeds, alas, have not proven effective in clinical trials.)

Right, but I don't eat my Calls' eggs or worm them too close to breeding season. Most if not all wormers will have some sort of recommendation of withdrawal period on them if the animal is being used for food and the wormer is being used for animals the package is labeled for. Using Ivomec for ducks is an off-label use; however, we currently do not have any forms of ivermectin labeled for use in ducks.

Good that you're not eating the Call's eggs , but that wasn't specified in the earlier post - someone might not understand that your recommendation/experience wasn't for meat animals.

Ducks are so very multi-use (meat, eggs, sanity) that it's important to put in the warnings every time, I think.
