How to tell if eggs are fertile? - Page 2

I put a light sussex roo with a white silkie hen just to see what the babies would look like. Has anyone tried this. So far I had one hatch, it has 5 toes like a silkie, pink skin like a sussex and it is yellow with black mottled look coming in on its wings... Hmmm.. could be interesting. I waiting to see what its comb will look like.

I tried a French Black Copper Marans hen with a White Silkie roo but she only layed 3 eggs all summer and none of them were fertile. Has anyone tried that combination?

What is the difference between a rooster & cockerel?

A cockerel is a male chicken under a year old. When he hits a year, he's a rooster.
