Can Chickens Eat Grapes? - Page 3

My ladies LOVE grapes. If they see me walk out the house with anything that possibly  looks like a grape bag/container. They come running! Will jump up to try and get them out of my hands. Crazy lil girls smile

omg mine are crazy about grapes.  I have an EE in the garage in an isolation cage because of her extreme nakedness/molt right now and I brought her some grapes in my hand and said, "Snickers, would you like some...." and then I had to count my fingers to make sure they were all still there.  Yep, they love grapes.

I just tried this out today with my 14 7 week olds.  OMG, my word, they'll kill for that stuff.

My ladies are not the "cuddle me" type generally, but today not one but two jumped on my lap to get a grape and let me pet them while they were devouring it, not in a hurry to get off my lap either.  Totally amazing.  We may make hugging buddies yet.  They didn't do this for mealworms so far and I thought those were all the craze.

16 hens own me.  3 Black Australorps, 3 Dominiques, 2 Golden Laced Wyandottes, 3 Welsummers, 3 golden comets, 1 New Hampshire Red and 1 Ameraucana.

Chicken Math in action -- sell three, buy seven -- build another coop - harvest two, order 12. New chicks arriving in May 2013! 6 Ameraucana's and 6 Anconas.

My girls will eat pretty much whatever I throw in front of them.  Just today I fed them leftover mushroom risotto mixed with sour cream.  They LOVED it!!

For dessert, they had red seedless grapes!

I feed them, in no particular order:

1.  Cottage cheese
2.  Watermelon
3.  Grapes
4.  Strawberries
5.  Left over corn on the cob
6.  Yougart
7.  Sour cream
8.  Salsa
9.  Oatmeal mixed with anything
10. Left over salad stuff
11. Stale cereal
12. Crackers
13. Worms
14. STINK BUGS!!!!!
15. Basil

They are basically feathered goats!!

Chicken math is true.  We just received another 6 chicks on 4/1/13.  3 Cuckoo Marans and 3 Buff Orpingtons.

Yep its good they like to bounce and roll and play with it. smile.png

In my opinon, they can eat any fruit and veggie that does not contain any toxtic.

We live in a grassy area surrounded by trees and bushes and weeds, and we started owning chickens almost an year ago. We have 4 lovely hens which names are Cooper, Booker, Tiny and Naughty. These chickens names are based on thier personality. They may be just chickens out a billion, but to me they are the most special creatures in the whole world.

I give the girls frozen grapes and strawberries.   They love them frozen and can bite off small pieces.  I figure it is a cold summer treat!
