After a year and a half of having them (this time, I have had chickens and ducks before), I have finally decided what I want I think, and can start concentrating on my birds instead of hatching everyone elses. Once I get some more quail and call eggs, of course.

how was your hatch rate on the call eggs?

were they from tiny eggs or were they decent sized eggs? (mine are slightly bigger than our bantam cochins, but a couple of themm are really small)

BTW:  Did some beak sexing of these Silver Apples last night.  Supposedly darker beaks are boy, oarnge are girl.

If this is true... but I did find it on several sites..

I have 2 females and 2 males.

I also THINK I have a pair of the sussex.  (Don't ask me how I would be so lucky..)

And I THINK the lavender and a lemon are hens.  The other lemon and blacky are questionable.  I'm going to get pics and see what ya'll think.

Right now I just feed them, lol. It's been cold and their teeny eggs freeze fast when they lay them so I haven't been able to hatch very many. I also turned their light off to give them a break and they aren't laying at the moment. I plan on eating some of them, eventually though. They are much easier to kill and process than chickens, and I'm trying not to feed my kids so many poor unhappy chickens from the store, lol. I tried meaties last year though, and I don't have enough room to freeze big enough batches to make it worth it, and I liked the poor fat sweet things. I would much rather do some mean, dual purpose roos but being in the city the crowing is kind of an issue I don't want to push more than I already do.

Me too! So, since I am not getting ANY MORE chicken breeds in the near future, I may just cheat and get some white showgirl eggs to add a hen or roo to my silkies. Then it's just a variety of something I already have, and doesn't count.
