If this is true... but I did find it on several sites..

I have 2 females and 2 males.

I also THINK I have a pair of the sussex.  (Don't ask me how I would be so lucky..)

And I THINK the lavender and a lemon are hens.  The other lemon and blacky are questionable.  I'm going to get pics and see what ya'll think.

What are you going to do with all these roos, lol? Are you building a seperate pen for everyone, or just a few to seperate for breeding? You are going to have a busy summer!

Most were about the size of cochin eggs, with some just a little bigger or smaller. I only hatched 5, but I had 20 develop and had temperature/thermometer problems and my temperature was too low for over a week, which is when most of them quit before I figured out what the problem was.

I'm going to separate everything out. The hubs is going to help me make breeding pens.  If I end up getting 2 roos of the same breed I'll sell the extras.  Yes, busy summer for sure.  LOL.  Plus we're going to try to sell our house in the early summer to get some acreage.  I feel a little overwhelmed at times.  But my parents have more than enough space for me.  But it's what I love and the girls love it too.

We found a property that has a huge horse barn with about 30 individual stables in it.  ;)  I'm sure it won't be around by the time we sell our house.  That's how it always goes for us.

I pipped holes for them because they never did, but only had to help a few all the way.

I can't decide if I want pens for everyone or not. I like letting everyone out, and if I just stick with one breed per species, or at least one male per species I think I can get away with it. I do want to build one pen though, to use if my geese get mean next spring or if I end up keeping a few call drakes to seperate them.

Do you have problems with hawks or anything around your calls? That is the main thing I'm worried about with them. I don't want to clip them and have them be sitting ducks for hawks, but don't want to have to pen them all the time either. And I'm hoping the geese will make hawks think twice before swooping down for a snack.
