I did, they look great! I agree with Iain to go ahead and get them moved over. This way we can all obsess over you moving them, a d checking them twice a day, and posting about the pipping, and well you get it.

OMG I know.  I was thinking about Amercaunas today. (sp)  They are growing on me.  

And I want speckled sussex... silver and gold laced wyns... some cochin pullets for broodies.. and a couple red sex-links for eggs.  That's it.

Oh and Magpie, silky ducks, Cayuga and penciled runners.  That's it.

OMG I just noticed that Bunsen has his first Drake Feather!!

He grew so fast.    

I also caught drakey boy mating with mallard girl.  No eggs yet.     Stupid seasonal layers.

Id rather obsess with you all over your eggs, than obsess over mine.

I repaired my accidental ding to my turkey egg with food grade wax this morning.  Its been a day, and no leakage or weeping, so it seems clear the membrain was still intact.  (Darn incubator, why do they have to put all that crap right above my eggs?  Do they think everyone just hatches chickens????)  I've moved my quail eggs to under the offending element. 

Anyone ever have a hatch from an egg slightly damaged over halfway to hatch? A fine living embryo, too, from expensive ebay eggs.  I only nicked a bit off the shell, less than a 2 mm area.....  Looked to me like I didn't quite break through the shell.

You have to be pretty impressive, or dang small, to get into my backyard.  No free rides.  I don't have any seasonal layers, except maybe the future silkies.  I recall my others didn't lay often, but they did lay all year.  But hay, they are iimpressive setters.  I thought about getting giant cochins for setting, but Im not a fan of that early morning cock-a-doodle-doo business.  Thats why I have ducks.  (I'm gonna keep the silkies in the garage at night, so I don't have to hear them!  Ditto DD future old english bantems- I hear they are also good sitters.  ??)
 

Marty, just watch it closely and handly kindly. You would be surprised what eggs can hatch from. Wax is a magical save for sure.

I bet it will be fine.  Stupid offending elements.

My silkies lay pretty well through the winter. I still consider them seasonal though, since they go broody so often and don't lay then or for a few weeks after.
