These are the only seasonal layers I have and I'm not getting any more.  (except the geese...)

And actually, they were sold to me as Rouens and then one day they flew over my house.  (approximately page 30 of this thread)  HA!!

I'm wondering how the cock a doodle thing will go over here.  Might have to keep roosters at my dad's minus the cream legbars.. I guess it will depend on how loud everything is.

I know TSC gets some of their birds from here.

I haven't even been able to keep anything I have hatched except for Dante and Libby (who I really do think is a drake).  I need ducks.  Poor Robyn is getting it from all of them, Jonny, Dante and Libby (or Lance now) are all trying to get her.  I NEED DUCKS NOT DRAKES.  But all I have in the incubators is Pekins, which are all sold, runners, which are all sold, and then my weirdo chickens, and more weirdo chickens coming, and then my order from Celtic for the Easter Egg Hatch.  I need to decide what I want and then get them, hatch them and just get rid of everything else and hatch nothing for a while.  I just can't decide what I want to keep.  I think all my little baby silkie chickens are leaving soon too.

I repaired my accidental ding to my turkey egg with food grade wax this morning.  Its been a day, and no leakage or weeping, so it seems clear the membrain was still intact.  (Darn incubator, why do they have to put all that crap right above my eggs?  Do they think everyone just hatches chickens????)  I've moved my quail eggs to under the offending element.

Anyone ever have a hatch from an egg slightly damaged over halfway to hatch? A fine living embryo, too, from expensive ebay eggs.  I only nicked a bit off the shell, less than a 2 mm area.....  Looked to me like I didn't quite break through the shell.  he.gif

I did.
I sealed a crack with beeswax
Made it to day 28.
They were muscovy n both my eggs died on day 28

12 weeks or so.  But they won't just do it all at once.  They will start practicing and then you know you have about 2 weeks before airborne.

That ducks.  Darn it, I hate it when that happens.

Did my eggtopsy for all those quail, and over half were all formed.  They got nuked apparently when my moms borrowed bator skipped up to 103-4 I bet.  I only got the babies that came early.  (4 of 30 - kinda bummed me out)  It was a still air though, and not up for long, so maybe it was just like yours - embryo suicide.  (I just don't know what to call it when they just all suddenly die for reasons I can't figure.)  Lack of air?  Drowned when they pipped (from excess humidity)?  I dunno.

Why don't sheep shrink in the rain?

Why is there brail at drive up ATMs??

Why are their floatation devices instead of parachutes in my airplain seat???

If a tree falls in the woods and my husband doesn't hear it, am I still wrong????
